29th May 2004 'ConVivial'
An interesting looking Victorian Sci-fi Con being held up in Glasgow. After seeing a load of them dressed up at Eastercon we couldn't resist signing up.
Tip: rather than our usual pseudonyms, we've gone for middle name and town. So you'll be seeing Walter Uxbridge, Colm Guildford and Dr John Brixton there.

18th April 2003 - Eastercon
Officially, it's a literary type convention where 800 people gather to
hear talks from authors, discuss books and art.
We just go for the beer and to watch women in corsets.
Apparently it lasted 4 days, not sure where it all went. I remmeber a disco, where I was covered in latex and fake blood (but still didn't win a prize)
There were room parties, with AGWA + calvados + amareto + chocolate + UHT milk.
There was dressing up, which we should have got a long service award for (3 costumes in not many minutes), lots of blood stained fluffy toys, then more room parties. (I'll put up some of my own pics soon, honest)
12/13th April 2003 - Unconvention
A 2 day convention hosted by Fortean Times. Used to be good fun to go and listen to some people who know too much about topics that no one else does.
Less nutters this year, and a much smaller dealers area. (Note to self: scan in the pic of my aura I had taken at last years Uncon)
Ken Cambell was quite restrained, after last years, erm, shower scene.

We heard about a
small group of 'special' poeple in London that gather once a year. We went to
see if they were similar.
They weren't, they were just students. But they
did have cheap beer.

Snowboarding
Having just organised a group booking for 16 of us in
March, we noticed a cheap deal, thought "What the hell" and went off for a
week.

While no one was looking we slipped out into London, but it was
halloween so no one noticed us. After wandering the streets for a while we
ended up at the Ben Crouch pub, where we fitted right in
